    The waiting game…

Posted by allen on July 31st, 2006

Optimus PrimeI get very disappointed when I hear about a movie that I think will be exciting only to find out it won’t be released in theatres until a year or more from now. For example, Transformers, set to open July 4, 2007. Yes, they are more than meets the eye but we won’t be meeting them for another year. The hype starts early for next year’s summer flicks as a not-so-young Harry Potter in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix goes up against the Battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. Will Transformers be the retro-blockbuster of next summer? Or, will the approaching adulthood wizard steal its glory? My vote goes to Optimus Prime and his Autobot friends. Other contenders for next summer’s top box office podium (though perhaps less dressed for success) include “Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer”, Pixar’s “Ratatouille”, “The Bourne Ultimatum” and “AVP 2″. Let the waiting begin…

    Back in Action?

Posted by allen on July 30th, 2006

Ok, this is the second time I have written this post in the last 10 minutes because FireFox crashed! I’m using Firefox version 2, beta 1 as my main browser right now and while it sports great new features, it is definitely not 100% stable. I guess nothing is really 100% stable, including my current job! That’s right, my contract is over at the end of September this year. While I am very capable in this position (Windows desktop support and LAN admin), it just isn’t for me. The lack of any creativity in this job is really starting to drive me batty. My local network doesn’t suffer many problems - which is usually a LAN Admin’s dream but, boredom sets in fast and I can only redesign my inventory database so many times before I start feeling numb. We have no internet access (at least not easily) and so my only occasional connection to anything interesting is the corporate intranet. To sum up, I don’t like it. Time to move on.

Love the Blade movies? Now there will be a Blade TV series based on the Comic Book!

(I removed the autoloading flash object because it became annoying.)

It starts June 28th on Spike TV! I hope it’s a keeper.

    Guess that show!

I watched a lot of TV when I was a kid and today, the theme from one of my more rare blasts from the past suddenly popped into my head for some reason. Here is a shot from the cartoon. I know what it is….do you?
